DASH7™ Connect

January, 2010

Dear DASH7 Community,

Happy New Year!  Although the holidays just recently wrapped up, 2010 has already been a flurry of activity for the DASH7 Alliance.  We completed our membership drive, planning our annual members’ meeting next month in Puerto Rico, bringing on new semiconductor platform partners, launched a new online forum, and are busy planning many events for later this year.

If you haven’t visited the DASH7 website in a while, you’ll find many improvements and updates since initially launched 10 months ago.  You will now find presentations, blog, white papers, videos of recent webinars, a developer’s forum, and news clippings from around the world.

This is going to be a great year for the DASH7 Alliance – get involved with the premiere organization working to advance a low-power standard for wirelessly connecting people, places and things to the internet!

Best,

Pat Burns
President

DASH7 was mentioned as the big low-power wireless sensor networking player for mobile manufacturing in a Managing Automation blog post titled, "The Most Important Trend in 2010."

Texas Instruments CC430 System-on-a-Chip Support for DASH7

Last month saw the announcement of DASH7 support for TI’s CC430 system on a chip.  CC430 is based on TI’s successful MSP430 product combined with its ChipCon radio product line TI made two years ago.  Very small form factor, inexpensive, scalable – an important milestone for DASH7.  Media Release.

Join The Conversation

This newsletter is meant to present and discuss issues that impact the DASH7 technology community as a whole – not just members of the DASH7 Alliance. The possibilities of DASH7 technology are endless, and as such, the Alliance takes a strong role in engaging, connecting, and facilitating important events in - and for - our technology community. One easy way to get involved is to participate in our online forum and our blog. We’re also planning many more free webinars starting in February that provide great opportunities to ask questions and learn more about DASH7.
